Where curiosity and confidence grow together.
From Kindergarten to Year 6, girls build the strong foundations that prepare them for a lifetime of learning. In intentionally small classes, they are encouraged to ask questions, think independently, embrace new challenges and develop the confidence to participate, contribute and discover what they are capable of.
Whether girls begin at Fahan in Kindergarten or join us for the important transition into Year 5, they quickly become part of a connected and welcoming community where friendships grow, confidence develops and every girl feels she belongs.
Every girl is known, encouraged and challenged as an individual. Our teachers understand her strengths, interests and learning needs, providing the support and challenge that help her grow academically, socially and emotionally.
As part of our Kindergarten to Year 12 campus, Junior School girls begin building connections beyond their own year level from their earliest days at Fahan. Through our Big Sister, Little Sister program and shared School experiences, they develop friendships, confidence and a strong sense of belonging that continues throughout their education.

Hands-On and Inquiry-Led
Our curriculum combines explicit teaching in literacy and numeracy with inquiry, creativity and hands-on learning that encourages girls to think deeply, solve problems and make meaningful connections across their learning.
In the early years, children are encouraged to explore, question and learn through purposeful play, building confidence and curiosity from the very beginning. As they progress, girls become increasingly independent learners, developing critical thinking and the confidence to apply their knowledge in new and meaningful ways.
Guided by the Australian Curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework, our teaching recognises that every girl learns differently. Because our teachers know every student so well, they understand when to provide extra support, when to extend learning and how to help every girl achieve her personal best.
As a dedicated girls' school, our learning environment is designed to support the way girls learn, develop confidence and find their voice. Every opportunity - whether in the classroom, on the stage, on the sporting field or in leadership - is theirs to embrace. The result is confident learners who enjoy learning, embrace challenge and are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
Specialist Learning

One of the distinctive features of Junior School is the opportunity for girls to learn from specialist teachers from an early age.
From creating ceramic pieces in our on-campus kiln to performing on stage, making music, learning a new language, exploring coding and robotics, or developing teamwork through sport, girls discover new interests, develop practical skills and build confidence in a wide range of learning environments.
These specialist experiences complement classroom learning, encouraging creativity, curiosity and a willingness to try something new. Along the way, girls develop confidence, discover their strengths and uncover interests that often stay with them well beyond the Junior School.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Learning extends beyond the classroom through experiences that encourage girls to explore, challenge themselves and see the world from new perspectives. Excursions, camps and outdoor learning experiences allow students to apply their learning in real-world settings while building resilience, independence and teamwork.

Students also enjoy opportunities to participate in sport, music, drama, debating, Book Club and a wide range of co-curricular activities that allow them to discover new interests and develop existing talents.
Childhood should be full of curiosity, imagination and play. Across the Junior School, girls continue to explore, create, laugh and learn together while gradually developing the independence and confidence that prepare them for Senior School.
Because Fahan is intentionally small, every girl is encouraged to have a go. Whether joining a sporting team, performing on stage or taking on a leadership opportunity, participation is valued and every student is supported to contribute. These experiences help girls discover strengths they may never have realised they had.
Wellbeing
Children learn best when they feel safe, supported and connected.
"Feeling known and supported gives every girl the confidence to participate fully in school life and enjoy learning."
Pastoral care is woven throughout every aspect of Junior School life. Teachers build strong relationships with students and families, creating an environment where girls feel confident to ask questions, embrace challenges and celebrate their achievements.
Our Positive Education program helps students develop resilience, emotional awareness, respectful relationships and a growth mindset. Through our House system, Big Sister, Little Sister program and daily classroom experiences, girls learn the importance of kindness, empathy and contributing positively to their community.
One Campus. Every Opportunity.
From Kindergarten onwards, girls enjoy the benefits of learning on one connected Kindergarten to Year 12 campus. As girls progress through the Junior School, they become increasingly connected with the wider School community through specialist learning spaces, performances, sporting events, celebrations and shared traditions.
These experiences help build confidence, strengthen friendships and create a deep sense of belonging from an early age. Whether performing on stage, representing the School in sport, joining a choir or trying something completely new, every girl is encouraged to have a go.
For families, one campus also provides the convenience and continuity of a single school community throughout their daughter's education.

Joining Fahan in Year 5
Year 5 is one of our major entry points and a wonderful time to join the Fahan community.
Girls quickly form friendships, become part of our Kindergarten to Year 12 campus and enjoy increasing opportunities for Outdoor Education, leadership, specialist learning and co-curricular participation before transitioning to Senior School.
Whether your daughter is joining an established class or continuing her education at Fahan, she will be warmly welcomed into a supportive community where she is known, encouraged and challenged from day one.
