Fahan Rowers Deliver Strong Performances at Head of the River

16 March 2026

Fahan rowers delivered a strong performance at the Head of the River, held at Lake Barrington over the weekend. Crews across all age groups, from Opens through to U13s, raced with determination, teamwork and pride, reflecting the commitment and preparation built throughout the season.

It was pleasing to see every crew give their all on the water, with a clear sense of focus and collective effort evident across the day.

Fahan also celebrated a number of excellent results, with first-place finishes in the Year 10 Fours, Year 10 Coxed Eight, Year 10 Double Scull and Year 8 Coxed Quad Scull. These results are a strong reflection of the consistency and dedication shown by the crews across the season.

A special mention goes to the Open crew, whose leadership and encouragement of younger rowers was evident throughout the day. Their support and example contributed to the positive and inclusive environment across the team.

From the energy on the water to the support along the banks, the event was a strong display of school rowing. Fahan extends its thanks to the coaches, families and supporters whose ongoing commitment plays an important role in the rowing program.
