Following an extensive national search that identified some outstanding candidates, the Fahan School Board is delighted to announce the permanent appointment of Mrs Meg Lawson as the Principal of Fahan School.
Meg has a strong educational and teaching background and delivers authentic and personalised learning experiences for all students.
Prior to joining Fahan School in 2002, Meg taught extensively both interstate and overseas. With over 25 years of teaching experience and a long association with our School, including executive management of the Junior School and, more recently, Head of House – Fenton in the Senior School and Acting Principal in Term 4 2021, the Board believes Meg is best placed to continue the long tradition of outstanding leaders at Fahan. Her passion for learning, commitment to the students and respected status amongst staff will ensure the School maintains its genuine warmth and special sense of belonging.
Meg has wholeheartedly welcomed her new role. “I feel very privileged to work in this beautiful environment and I appreciate how lucky we are to teach such enthusiastic and motivated students. The connections the students have with each other and with their teachers cannot be underplayed. At Fahan, we have an established tradition of creating a community in which all people flourish and ensuring our students know that there is someone who deeply cares for them.”
As a compassionate leader, Meg is keenly focussed on the ongoing care of all students. It is a focus that resonates far beyond the students’ academic results and embraces their entire contribution to the community. How they participate in a broader aspect of life, whether it’s through co-curricular activities or their own interest groups, is all a part of a Fahan girl’s journey.
The Board believes Meg is an outstanding role model for the next generation of Fahan girls and we know that she will continue to provide an exceptional learning environment for all the students of Fahan.
Yours sincerely
