On Friday 16 November, more than 60 Nateby Club ladies came together to enjoy a delicious two-course Christmas lunch at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania.
Special guest speaker, Eileen Brooker, former Art and History of Art teacher (from 1954 – 1964), enthralled the audience as she spoke about her move to England in 1950, working at various potteries, drawing portraits and learning the fine art of ceramics from those around her. She also reminisced about her time at Fahan and her fond memories as a teacher. “I loved teaching the students and helping them to achieve; including the time we spent out on the front lawn, drawing what we could see around us; I was very happy at Fahan,” said Eileen.
Eileen displayed a number of her pieces for attendees to view and purchase during the event.
As well as listening to Eileen speak, guests participated in a Christmas raffle offered by the Nateby Club Committee and caught up with old friends at the final Nateby Club function of the year.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back for more Nateby Club events next year.
